The season is just around the corner and the boys and I are looking forward to the start. The team has been working out in the morning at 7 am and even though it is an early hour they are turning out in large numbers. Expectations and excitement is running very high.
We have a big weekend with Community Days, the equipment rodeo and the boys will be selling their blitz cards. So please try to support one or all three. Thank you in advance.
We had pictures yesterday but there will be a make up on the 25th of August during camp. The times for that week of camp (August 23rd-27th) will be 3:30 till 8:00pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We will have our scrimmage on Thursday against Beaver High School.
Make sure all the paper work is turned in for the Booster Club.

WOW what a night the excitement was definitely in the air tonight. I thank all who came to support the team tonight and all the parents who let their boys spend the evening with the team. it has proven to be quite a team building experience. the boys are asleep and i sit here typing on the computer not knowing what to do with myself..... the excitement has not subsided.
A huge thank you to my wife Sandi for the great breakfast for the boys, i never thought that they would eat all 100 eggs, 10 loaves of bread and 15 pounds of sausage. thank you also to Patrice, Mary Pat and Melissa for coming in at 2:00am with Sandi to feed the team.
Well it is getting to be about that time for round 2. The boys looked sharp tonight so i am excited to see how they do this morning.
August 25
the first week is finished and rapidly coming to the conclusion of the second. The middle school team is also in full swing and new members are welcome.
We have a big scrimmage tomorrow against Beaver Area so please come on out and support the team. The team did real well against Riverview and we are definitely looking for a repeat performance.
September 3
Camp has ended and the 2010 season is here! The team is very excited about opening night at Brentwood and hope that our faithful is able to make the trip. Every year the first game jitters gets to me and I am never sure i am going to make it through the night. But this year is very different. The seniors and the rest of the team have been so focused and it is very evident that they have the same goal as the coaching staff.....Victory! the jitters are still there but it is in the form of expectation, there is no telling what this years team is going to accomplish.
September 27
What a win Friday night at Apollo Ridge. It was nice to play the spoiler for a change with the grand opening and all. The boys bounced back from a lopsided loss to Ford City and really played focus football against the vikings. We have lots to prepare for this week against a solid summit academy team. the have a lot of talent but i know the players are ready for the challenge. I hope the community can come out and cheer us to a homecoming victory. Thank you all who supported the touchdown clubs gun bash this past weekend. Especially want to thank those gentlemen whos sons have moved on but dedicated their time to this event.
October 4
Deer Lakes football finds itself in a position that its not familiar with, a winning streak. Understand that it is just two games but this team will take it and use it for further motivation. Summit Academy is a talented football team that came into lancerrland on homecoming with a 3-1 record. The players were not impressed with their opponent but were very impressive in their performance. We came together as a team and will continue to work hard toward our goals. We have still not yet played out best football. Hopefully lots of fan support will make the trip to west shamokin. Go lancers!!
October 19
It has been awhile since i sat down to write and with all the excitement the team is generating you can understand why!! the boys have worked and are working really hard and i for one am very proud of them. With the amount of support that is popping up around the community it is evident that the locals are proud as well. Friday will be an emotional night with our senior recognition. This senior group has a special place in my heart and have really dedicated themselves to the success of the program. Please continue to show your support of your Lancers and come to the game wearing your green.
